, in partnership with , have undertaken nearly 200 Family & Community Workshops in urban, rural and remote communities across Australia . Exciting, inspiring and colourful, these workshops have touched the hearts and minds of thousands of people - leaving a profound lasting impact and clearing the way for future positive exchange on the issue of caring for children.
Workshops are run by Noonghaburra man . As an artist and educator, Tex specialises in drawing out of communities their visions for the future - helping them articulate this through art - and then taking steps to achieve their vision.
Specifically, the Workshops set out to:
. develop child friendly communities whose members interact more positively;
. draw on cultural strengths and knowledge in appropriate ways;
. facilitate improved communication within communities and improved capacity to solve their own problems;
. facilitate an improved approach to learning and respect within communities and increased self-reliance.

Workshops enhance the team skills of staff working in child protection. Many key issues have been identified through the unique approach of the Workshops that represented significant and beneficial knowledge for the development of future programs and policy.
Following participation in the Workshops, individuals and communities report an increased sense of responsibility, increased confidence in their own ideas and, as a result, an increased sense of urgency to take action and take control of their future - for their children.
"I absolutely adored and was fascinated by it [the Workshop], and think it was life changing for a few people. Word of mouth has spread the information about the Workshop across the sector and I already have a list of people wanting to participate in another Workshop if the opportunity arises. The workshop reinforced all the messages about child protection, supporting children and community mindedness in raising children." [ Susan Tether Co-ordinator, Mirrabooka Centrecare, Perth]
