Hi, I just saw the Children See Children Do ad on Seven and I would like to know if it is being aired in prime time (I saw it at midnight WA time). I nearly cried - It was such a powerful and moving ad and the message was soooo clear. I do not have children of my own but it is impossible to ignore the obvious signs that are prevalent every day that scream that children are a direct product of their primary carers (or rather that at the ages of the children depicted in the ads they are extremely impressionable and that their early experiences are likely to be reflected in later life). We are all exposed to advertising on a continuous basis and on many levels we are generally immune to the impact of the 'shock factor', this ad surpasses this and has a profound effect. I hope that such a powerful message has the opportunity to receive the prime air time that it so richly deserves. Great job - we have to protect our children. Thank you. Regards, Jess

Just saw a compelling ad on TV with the tagline "Children see, children do", encouraging parents to be positive role models for kids by showing how ugly it would be if kids adopted some of our worst behaviours.

It closes with a web address: http://www.childfriendly.org.au/ which is worth having a quick look at, as there's a lot of parenting information, as well as sections around child-friendly workplaces and child-friendly communities. (Fowarded to NAPCAN by Gillian Calvert, NSW Commissioner for Children and Young People)

This is AMAZING - talk about hit the nail on the head - the message is simple and powerful and the video clip of the children mimicking the adults is so spot on. In my work with parents when they complain about the behaviour of children of today I always say children ONLY learn how to behave by copying the adults around them. So if you are unhappy about children's behaviour where did they learn it? Adult behaviour shown in the media, sporting grounds, public transport etc all which is captured in the advert - STUNNING

Congratulations to DDB - very professional video, great background music and WOW powerful message - I don't believe there would be anybody who didn't "get it" Pat Jewell, Lecturer on Child Protection

What a wonderful campaign, so very moving and so true.  I think we often forget the impact of our action on the children of today.  This brought it home in images that everyone will be able to understand.  Well done. Gillian Birch, WA

It gave me an instant lump in the throat. I hope it gets a lot of airplay! Suzanne, ACT

Responses all positive in a rather stunned way- "very powerful; should be shown in prime time as we are seeing more and more of this violence".

Next comment "Brings tears to our eyes because we're not used to it.  Perhaps the kids who come here (CARHU) wouldn't see it as distressing?" Dr Sue Packer, Community Paediatrician ACT

A great ad, so powerful, I had a tear at my desk. Have sent it to some of the guys here.
"Very powerful and very good!!!!!"

I wanted to tell you how impressed I was with the lunch during NCPW. It was by far the most powerful event that I have attended and the balance between logic and emotion was exceptionally powerful. It was inspirational to hear the speakers And the ad. what can I say- it is a rare tear that escapes a Morawska-Ahearn in public!! The lunch actually served to affirm my commitment to NAPCAN and our work.

I just saw your "children see, children do" ad. on TV and was very moved by it. The ad. is so confronting, it's so honest. I'm sure it will impact on many others as it did on me and it will send a strong message to all who see it. Thank-you for producing such an important advertisement. Anonymous

Congratulations to you and the people who wrote your new advertising campaign. Not much more to say but well done. D. Taylor Walpole
