Funded by the Hunter Area Assistance Scheme and run by Newcastle Family Support Services, the BUDS project recognises the important role community plays in the health and happiness of children. Representatives from Wallsend Town Committee (Mainstreets group), community organisations, and Newcastle City Council worked together to produce family friendly guidelines for businesses and event organisers. Businesses and events who meet these guidelines display a Family Friendly logo developed by local school children. MORE Download Guidelines for Family Friendly Businesses HERE

The City of Palmerston is an active young community. The city is 21km south of the Territory's capital, Darwin, and has attracted many young families. Our population is approximately 25,000. As part of the Safe Communties initiative they have produced a Child Friendly Challenges Flyer HERE.
This a popular initiative that aims to improve the health and wellbeing for parents in the Victorian city of Darebin. The program was developed by the local Maternal and Child Health Department to help local parents adjust to the demands of a new baby and to reduce the risk of social isolation, post-natal stress or depression. Participants meet in designated places to enjoy pram walks in local parks and walking tracks in and around the city. Darebin Pramwalkers have produced a manual to help you set up a pramwalking program in your local aread. Download the manual [PDF Document] HERE
