Child Friendly Australia has thousands of volunteers and some dedicated interns, each playing an important role in developing, promoting and supporting initiatives aimed at creating Child Friendly Communities across the country.
Child Friendly Australia volunteers have brought their time, passion for children, professional skills, knowledge and expertise to a range of tasks vital to the operation of the foundation, including:- Fundraising- Holding stalls- Public speaking- Data entry- Mailouts- Boards and Committees- General office administration- Research.

Child Friendly Australia also offers internships to students from a wide range of educational institutions from Australia and around the world, over a wide range of disciplines.
As well as being involved in the important work of giving children a supportive environment and a brighter future, Child Friendly Australia gives students the opportunity to experience real-life professional situations, developing leadership skills, interacting with the media and the wider community, as well as working with children.
Child Friendly Australia Interns can experience work placement, field placement and field education, giving them an excellent opportunity to learn in a genuine professional environment, all with the warm support of the Child Friendly Australia team.
'Their enthusiasm and love for their jobs rubbed off on me as I now find myself wanting to contribute and help in the area of prevention with regards to child abuse and neglect.' Nic Claase's role is working alongside the Communications Officer and Marketing Manager, assisting them in the areas of PR, advertising and media.
'It fascinates me how Australian organisations adapt cultural and social diversity in their strategies for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.' - Anna Deras came as an international student. She has now returned to Sweden, and is studying Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Umea .
'I enjoy working with children because they are the brightness of our day, they bring joy into life because they are our future. To protect them, care for them and support them is our responsibility.' - Diem Phan is currently a student of the University of Western Sydney studying for a bachelor of social work. Diem took up the major task of establishing the 'Young Advisory Committee' together with experience in other areas of the National Office.
