Dear Mr/Ms...,As a member of (insert electorate), and a supporter of the National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN), I am interested in hearing about how you would protect the children of (insert state) from child abuse and neglect, if you are elected.
At this election I am standing with NAPCAN, which believes that protecting children is everybody's business. NAPCAN advocates for sustained measures to prevent child abuse before it starts - that is, primary prevention measures.
I have three questions:
1. If you were elected, what primary prevention programs or services would you implement to support families?
2. Which of the government's policies do you think have be successful in preventing children from abuse and neglect?
3. How would you assist parents to ensure that their children flourish, particularly in their early years?
I thank you in advance for taking the time to share your views and wish you success with the forthcoming election campaign.
Yours sincerely,
