KiDS CAN 2008
Microgrants.
KiDS CAN MIcrogrant submissions for 2008 are now closed. All applications for the Microgrants are now under review and will be announced at the start of National Child Protection Week.  We look forward to sharing with you some of the great initiatives that have come in this year from kids across NSW.

There are three key elements of the Program for 2008:

  • KiDS CAN LG (local govt) - In 2008 there are four Council partners piloting the "Local Government Model" in their communities. Local community and youth organisations and schools will work together with kids, and local businesses will contribute dollars to fund Microgrants. NAPCAN will educate Councils and local service providers on how to effectively engage with, and encourage participation by children and young people, thereby supporting implementation of social policy/community development initiatives.
  • Microgrants - funding community based projects initiated by children and young people to prevent child abuse and neglect in their local community.
  • An inaugural Sponsor's Forum was hosted by Rothschild Australia on 26th February. The purpose was to thank our current sponsors, and to showcase specific examples of KiDS CAN initiatives to other corporations.
